Linda McFarland Winburn, 67, died Friday, May 18, 2012. Born in Hartsville, SC she was a daughter of the late Laurie and Mamie Perkins McFarland. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed the company of her cat “Sam.” She is survived by her husband, William F. Moody of Wallace, SC, sons, Clint Winburn of Hartsville, SC, Ryan Winburn of Hartsville, SC, David Winburn of Columbia, SC, step-son, Glenn Moody of Hartsville, SC, a daughter, Cameo Meyers currently in military service, step-daughers, Sonja Cox of Huntingtown, MD, Melissa Tarasiewicz of Chesterfield, SC, brothers, Douglas McFarland of Columbia, SC, Michael McFarland of Columbia, SC, sisters, Mary Ann Wilhoit of Columbia, SC, Dorothy M. Peacock of Columbia, SC, also many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2012 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.

Elizabeth Brigman Teal

Elizabeth Brigman Teal, 86, passed away March 14, 2012 at Azalealand Nursing Home, Savannah, Georgia. She was born in Chesterfield, SC and lived in the Teal’s Mill section of Chesterfield County until 1983. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan M. Teal; parents, John Jacob and Bertha Purvis Brigman; sisters, Annie Brigman, Margie Parker, and Betty Lou Vick; and brothers Jimmy, Bruce, Wilson, Robert Lee, and Donald Gene. Her daughter, Gale Teal Lovelace of Slidell, LA and her brother, John C. Brigman of Jensen Beach, FL, both joined her in eternal rest on March 31, 2012. She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Ron and Cathie Teal of Jensen Beach, FL; Larry and Diane Teal of Rincon, GA; son in law, Jim Lovelace of Slidell, LA; and five grandsons, Brent, Brian, Devin, Eric and Mark Teal. Wanda Jane Wallace

Wanda Jane Wallace, 62, died Sunday, May 20, 2012. Born in Cheraw, SC she was a daughter of the late Wade “Wallace” and Newell Leverne Graves Turnage.

Surviving are her husband, Autry “Buck” Wallace, sons Bobby (Melissa) Roscoe, Wallace “Gator” Roscoe, daughters, Audrey Hewitt, Stacy Wallace, Karyn (Norman) Conklin all of Cheraw, SC, brothers, Ronnie Turnage, Wayne Turnage, Joe Turnage, Steve Turnage, sisters; Linda Davis, Karen Melton, Denise Conrad, seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above and sisters, Millie Arant, Pat Isgett, Sharon Garris and Judy Suggs.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM following the visitation.

John Preston Harpe

Bennettsville, SC

Mr. John Preston Harpe, age 82, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his residence after an illness.

Born in Chesterfield County, SC, on December 3, 1929, he was the son of the late Colon and Lois Polson Harpe. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He received an honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant. He was in the car business for over 50 years and was the owner of Harpe Auto Mart in Bennettsville for 33 years until his retirement on December 31, 2010 at the age of 80. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church in Bennettsville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 14, 2012 at Burroughs Cooper Kiser Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw. The Rev. Dora Gafford will officiate. Family visitation will be held from 5:00P.M.-7:00 PM on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Burroughs Cooper Kiser Funeral Home.

Mr. Harpe is survived by his sons, Jerry Preston Harpe of Cheraw, Billy Harpe and wife, Angela of Florence, Heath Harpe and wife, Caraline of Bennettsville and Ashley Harpe of Bennettsville; daughters, Rhonda Rhyne and husband, David of Chesterfield, SC, Karen Teachey of Simpsonville, SC and Melanie O’Tuel and husband, Ramie of Bennettsville; two sisters, Margie Kline and husband, Chuck of Warner Robbins, GA and Jewell Watson and husband, Gene of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Zachary Harpe, Taylor Harpe, Leigh Ann Teachey, Chris Teachey, Toby Rhyne, Jody Rhyne, Nash Harpe, Ella Jane Harpe, Bailey Brake,Tristen Harrison, Royce O’Tuel, Tanner O’Tuel and R.W. O’Tuel; great-grandchildren, Grayce Rhyne, Gabi Rhyne and Leighton Rhyne.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Harpe and James Harpe and a sister, Carolyn Cranford.

Wade L Cheves

Wallace, SC

Mr. Wade L. Cheves, 62, passed away on Friday May 4, 2012 at his home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Monday, May 7, 2012, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. John L. Melton and Rev. Neil Williams. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born February 11, 1950 he was the son of Horace and Marcella Griggs Cheves. Wade was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, and retired from the textile industry. He loved to golf, ride his motorcycle, and spending time with his two dogs; Mollie and Rambo.

He is survived by his parents listed above; his wife of 41 years, Sarah White Cheves of the home; a son, Wade A. Cheves of Wallace, and sisters, Lois Bennett and Evelyn Brock both of Cheraw.

A Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Kiser Funeral Home.

Sara Neal Luther Flowers, 88, died Friday, May 4, 2012. Born in Lilesville, NC she was a daughter of the late Dewey S. and Fay Hanna Luther. She was a member of Wallace Baptist Church, Wallace, SC. She was retired from Delta Mills.  Surviving are several Nieces and Nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC.
